With Fat Bees Clearer Boards, bees are totally unaware their precious honey is being removed. Bees remain unaware and placid, so neighbours and passers-by are not harassed by otherwise angry bees.

Fat Bees Clearer Boards have an externally controlled Super Access Port. Boards do not have to be installed and removed every harvest but remain permanently under honey supers. For bees to fill the super, the access port is opened. When ready to harvest the super is cleared of bees by closing the port, forcing bees to leave the super through the one-way bee escape, but not return.

After 24 hours, when bees have cleared the honey super, the super is removed and the honey extracted. After the empty super is returned hive, the access port is opened againt allowing bees to regain access to the super to refill with honey. All this happens with bees none the wiser and beekeepers completing honey harvests untroubled by disturbed or angry bees.

The Bee Access Port is opened and closed by moving a stainless steel slide with your hive tool. The clearer boards can be installed with the slide at the back of the hive, away from the entrance and bees. With the access port open, which is its normal state, the slide is flush with the hive and so does not interfere when managing or moving hives. During harvest, the access port is closed by pulling the slide partially out. This also signals bee clearing is in progress.

The special triangle design bee escape is the best design to quickly clear bees.
